Celebrating Excellence: Governance Professionals of Canada (GPC) announces this year’s recipient of the Joyce Borden-Reed Distinguished Contribution Award!

Governance Professionals of Canada (GPC) has awarded its 2023 Joyce Borden-Reed Award to Janis Riven, and we take great pleasure in extending our sincerest congratulations to her on this achievement. The award was handed to Janis by GPC Vice-Chair of the Board, Arne Gulstene, at the 25th Annual Corporate Governance Conference 2023, held in Charlottetown, PEI.

The Joyce Borden-Reed Distinguished Contribution Award celebrates individuals whose substantial contributions have left an indelible mark on GPC over the years. Named in honor of one of the organization's founding board members, this accolade is selected by the Board of Directors of GPC and aims to spotlight those who have propelled GPC's interests and solidified its position within the Canadian governance landscape.

Janis' remarkable enduring commitment to enhancing governance practices in Canada and to supporting GPC and its mission to assist the governance professional on their journey to excellence for more than 20 years, make her exceedingly deserving of this recognition. Her contributions truly embody the spirit of the award and the growing importance of governance professionals in Canada.
