Governance Professionals of Canada (GPC) will be taking a different approach for its Excellence in Governance (EG Awards) program in 2020. Earlier in the year, we had decided to postpone this year’s awards ceremony, and after consultation with our Board of Directors and EG judging panel, we have instead decided to feature a special edition ‘Excellence in Governance Showcase’ to celebrate and highlight stories of resilience in governance.
The past few months have taken a toll on many organizations, and though there are still many unknowns, GPC strives to continuously recognize those practices that serve as a source of inspiration to our governance community.
As everyone continues to do their part in adjusting to our “new normal”, we want to ensure that you can still share your stories of resilience and success. GPC will be shining the light on up to four organizations per category; to those who rose above the fray, even in these times of turbulence. This year will be a celebration of achievements.
This special edition showcase will bring together examples of leading practices in key cornerstones of good governance. Our categories have been reduced and submission criteria have been simplified and re-casted to be more in line with this approach. GPC would like to encourage you and your organization to take this opportunity to be recognized and celebrated for your accomplishments in this Excellence in Governance: Special Edition Showcase.
The deadline for submissions is Tuesday, January 15th, 2021 and will be reviewed by our judges. Up to four organizations will be selected in each category and invited to join a discussion panel for the one-day Special Edition Showcase event on March 24, 2021 to share their stories and achievements.
We encourage companies of all sizes, sectors, and industries (listed, private, public, crown, not for profit, co-op, etc.) to take part, as the EG Program is designed to recognize excellence across all organizations.
