DID YOU KNOW?

The word governance originates from the Greek verb ‘kubernan’, which means steering a ship—as it was used in Plato’s Republic.

Following which emanated gifts the Latin verb ‘gubernare’, meaning to steer. This in turn led to the French ‘gouverner’, and hence the English words ‘government’ and ‘governance’.
