Lunch and Learn with the Alberta Securities Commission

A GPC Calgary Local Chapter Event. All Welcome!

Join us over your lunch hour for this virtual event, where attendees will learn about the Alberta Securities Commission (ASC), its core functions and some of its ongoing regulatory work.

The presentation will cover corporate finance regulatory updates, as well as discussions on diversity and climate-related disclosure rules. In addition, staff of the ASC will provide an overview of the process the ASC follows to detect, disrupt and deter misconduct and protect investors. This latter discussion will encompass an enforcement case study and pathways through which market participants can report securities misconduct to the ASC, including complaints, the Whistleblower Program and self-reporting.

The ASC is the regulatory agency responsible for administering the province's securities laws. Its mission is to protect investors and to foster a fair and efficient capital market in Alberta.
